Every month, I offer a recipe to
you that I have either developed or found in my research. All of these
recipes use melt and pour soap, but can be used in cold or hot process soaps.
If you make small batches of the soaps, it will probably never smell or look
quite the same way twice. Don't worry. Use your best judgment when
using these recipes.
January Recipe
Strawberries & Champagne Soap
This is a favorite
scent that I like to use for weddings and romantic occasions.
Ingredients:
Opaque M&P base
Strawberries & Champagne fragrance
Pink and gold sparkle coloring
Directions:
In a bowl, melt
opaque base. Add pink and gold color and fragrance.
When soap is
completely melted and color and fragrance have been mixed, pour soap into
desired molds.
Let it set.
Place in freezer for approximately 5-10 minutes to make it easier for the soap to come out of
the mold.
Take out of freezer and let
the soap come down to room temperature.
Once it has
hardened, it is ready to come out of the mold. Set on drying racks for
approximately 2 hours.
Do not leave the soap out for more than 24 hours. Glycerin will lose about 10-15% of its moisture if you do not wrap it
up.
After drying, wrap the soap in either saran wrap or
shrink wrap. Your soap is ready to use immediately. No need for curing
time.
